For a some time the Department for Education has been seen as one of the more forward-looking construction clients. With large-scale programmes, long-term spending plans and a clear objective to push for innovations, such as modern methods of construction and net zero solutions, the DfE has been a driving force in the sector’s development. But construction has needed more public sector clients to be this proactive.
