Way back in the day, I studied geography at university.  At the time, the creative destruction of the Thatcher revolution was driving “levelling down” at a speed and a  scale from which many communities have never recovered.

Today, Levelling Up the United Kingdom, the government’s flagship policy unveiled up Michael Gove, features analysis, data and arguments that could have been made at any time over the past 40 or 50 years. The problems examined are complex, multi-faceted and deeply engrained.
